Read MoreSessions are in full swing at the Ranch, it’s been an unusually rainy Summer, but we are making the most out of the warm days and longer evenings. The horses have been enjoying time in the pasture and all the attention they get from kids and our volunteers.
Read MoreWe are buried under snow. About two feet of the white stuff blankets the ground at the Ranch, and the weather service predicts another large storm this week, another 8-10 inches. The horses love the snow. It means they get to play out in the larger pasture because with the frozen ground, they won’t turn the grass to mud.

After many sessions of learning to groom and work with him on the ground, they’ve built a trusting relationship.

We like to teach the basics of horsemanship, including how horses think, to help kids relate to them and understand how they communicate in a herd and with us humans. One of the “games” we like to play in our round pen we call “tag”.

Read MoreWinter has come and gone so quickly this year and what a busy time it has been! After a quick but fruitful Maple Syrup season, we welcome the sunshine and warmer temperatures. It has been wonderful to watch the birds return, the trees begin to bud and flowers start to bloom.
